Cannes 2009 & One Show Design 2009 - Merit Awards

This poster campaign for Samsung MP3 Players was based on the effect or the hold music has on people, whether it takes you on a trip down 'memory lane' or whether it 'pulls at your heart strings' on your journey through the ups and downs of relationships or whether you're simple obsessed or 'hungry for sound'.

The illustrative treatment was chosen due to the creative and visual liberties it allows you, besides giving it a contemporary, youthful look. The biggest competitor was the ipod with its apple legacy and stark, lifestyle imagery, therefore the aim was to make this the complete opposite - very complex, emotional, engaging and insightful storytelling.

One Show Nomination

Deforestation is a major concern all over the world, so when the client said he wanted to promote reading online, as an environment friendly option, we were really excited. Once we cracked the idea of visually linking the trees; in this case bamboo; to paper and therefore books - the execution was fairy simple. We wanted, without making any bones about it, to drive home the fact that paper is a huge cause of deforestation the world over. So the client could promote his site as well as do his bit for the forests.

Monica's Sewing Classes Business Card

Monica, a nimble seamstress, is a friend who started her own business, teaching the fine art of hand sewing and hand embroidery. She passionately loved sewing and most everything in her home is hand sewn by Monica herself. We wanted her card to be as unique, simple and organic as Monica herself. So instead of a cold and 'business-like' business card, we conceptualised a visiting card that Monica herself was instrumental in creating - simple, hand-stitched, hand-cut visiting cards. She was ecstatic as she felt no other card could have demonstrated her passion for sewing like this one did.

This ad was created for the Transport Department as part of a drive against vehicular pollution. The idea was based on a simple insight: 'Pollution Kills', hence the creative device of a pistol barrel instead of the exhaust pipe.

Mobile phone trackers were a fairly new feature when we were briefed about this poster. With a target audience that was youthful and affluent, the idea needed to be intelligent and engaging without being fussy.
An illustrated boomerang was the perfect metaphor for a phone that would always come back to you. Beside posters, the boomerang was also executed as giant, suspended, in-store point-of-sale.

Unitech Pre Launch Art Exhibit cum Sales Brochure

Unitech was launching a premium residential property 'Unitech Golf & Country Club' in Noida, and as a pre-launch, unveiling event we recommended that they organise a 'by invitation-only' art exhibition on the property itself.
The idea was to commission well known artists to paint one paining each, which applicants for the property would later have the option to bid for. The association with art places the property and clientele firmly in the upper crust.
